Festival Center in the Heart of Malmö
During Malmö Design Days, 19–22 May 2027, Form/Design Center will serve as a central hub and starting point for exploring the festival program across Malmö. Visitors can find information, explore the program and plan their visits to the festival’s many locations throughout the city.
Located in the heart of Malmö, Form/Design Center will also host its own festival program featuring exhibitions, seminars and talks. Here, design professionals, international guests and the general public come together to exchange knowledge, discover new perspectives and find inspiration.
Exhibit at Form/Design Center
As a participant, you can apply to present an exhibition at Form/Design Center.
Two types of exhibition spaces are available:
Exhibition space of 8–10 m²
Exhibition spaces on floors 2 and 3 for presentations and exhibitions requiring more room.
1 m² exhibition space on a shared podium
A smaller space on a shared podium for presenting objects, prototypes and materials, for example.
Spaces are limited, and exhibitions are selected through a separate selection process.
MDD Talks
MDD Talks is the festival’s program of panel discussions, seminars and workshops presented to a live audience at Form/Design Center. It offers an opportunity to share knowledge, present ideas and explore current issues in design, architecture and crafts.
As a participant, you can apply to host a program activity as part of MDD Talks. Each session is limited to a maximum of 30 minutes unless otherwise agreed.
The number of program slots is limited, and selection takes place separately from the general application process for Malmö Design Days.
Application and Selection
You can apply for exhibition space or participation in MDD Talks as part of your regular application to Malmö Design Days.
Applications to participate in the festival and applications for space at Form/Design Center are evaluated separately. This means your program activity may be accepted to Malmö Design Days even if you are not allocated the space you applied for at the festival center. If you are not allocated space at Form/Design Center, you can instead organise your program activity at another location in Malmö.
The application period runs from 2 November to 21 December 2026. Applicants will be notified of the outcome no later than 15 January 2027.
Participation Fees
Additional fees apply for exhibition space at Form/Design Center or participation in MDD Talks, on top of the standard participation fee.
Exhibition Space
Individual practitioners and small businesses (1–3 employees)
- Exhibition space of 8–10 m²: SEK 4,000
- Shared podium, 1 m²: SEK 2,000
Larger companies and organisations (4 or more employees)
- Exhibition space of 8–10 m²: SEK 10,000
- Shared podium, 1 m²: SEK 4,000
Academic and cultural organisations
- Exhibition space of 8–10 m²: SEK 7,500
- Shared podium, 1 m²: SEK 3,000
MDD Talks
- Individual practitioners and small businesses: SEK 1,000
- Larger companies and organisations: SEK 3,000
- Academic and cultural organisations: SEK 2,000
All prices exclude VAT. These fees are additional to the standard participation fee.
Practical Information
Opening Hours
Form/Design Center will be open during the festival, 19–22 May 2027, from 11:00 to 18:00.
Participants with exhibition space are responsible for ensuring that a representative is present during opening hours.
